WHAT EXACTLY IS SCENIC GOLD?

Scenic Gold is a fungicidal seed treatment that combines two active ingredients and two modes of action. The active ingredients are Fluopicolide from the chemical group of the pyridinylmethyl-benzamides, and Fluoxastrobin, which is a dihydro-dioxazine. We are really excited about Scenic Gold because it is the new benchmark in controlling fungal diseases that affect the early crop development. It is crop-safe and suitable for winter and spring oilseed rape (OSR). Field tests on winter and spring oilseed rape have revealed improvements compared to current standards and no reductions in crop stand or delays in emergence compared to untreated crops.

WHAT BENEFITS DOES SCENIC GOLD BRING TO FARMERS?

Scenic Gold controls key early diseases affecting oilseed rape. So before too long, farmers will not need to worry about Phoma, Alternaria, downy mildew or damping-off (Rhizoctonia) anymore. As the results detailed in the registration dossier have proven, Scenic Gold’s efficacy on these key diseases is significantly higher than the respective EU market standard.

IN WHICH EUROPEAN COUNTRIES IS SCENIC GOLD NOW REGISTERED?

In March 2018 we obtained registration in the Czech Republic for winter oilseed rape, so the first treatment will be possible there for this winter’s crop. In May 2018 we then obtained registration in Lithuania for spring oilseed rape 2019. We expect to get Scenic Gold registered in most relevant countries in the EU during the first half of 2019. Consequently, a broad scale launch is planned for the 2019 winter oilseed rape season. The exception is Germany, where registration for local treatment is not expected before 2020.

WHAT ABOUT OTHER CROPS?

A label extension to sunflowers is being prepared. In the dossier we also demonstrated crop safety in white mustard, spring and winter turnip rape and oil radish. Moreover, additional crops are currently being investigated.
